Outfit Inspiration: Reno Rodeo

If you are a Reno local, you know that the Reno Rodeo is a summer staple. You also know that part of the fun in attending comes from getting dressed for the occasion. It’s the perfect time to pull out your boots, sundresses, Daisy Dukes and cowboy hats.

White Sundress

Summer Sundress

Quicksilver | Laurel Dress | $47.60

A crisp, white sundress is the perfect way to look country chic. This dress in particular is made out of a lightweight cotton, which is perfect for a hot summer night. Try pairing your dress with a jean jacket to keep warm after the sun goes down.

Cowboy Boots

Cowboy Boots

Tony Lama | VF3034 | $230.00

Legitimate cowboy boots like the ones pictured can be a bit pricey. The upside to the price is you get a better quality boot that will last much longer than knock-off versions. If you’re shopping locally, I recommend Shepler’s in Shopper’s Square. There is a good sized selection of women’s boots in various styles and price ranges. If authenticity isn’t a huge deal, check out Marshall’s, TJ Maxx or Target; all three stores generally carry a couple different affordable styles.

Daisy Dukes

Daisy Dukes

Rag & Bone | Mila Distressed Cutoffs | $175.00

What’s more country than a good pair of cutoffs? Pair these denim short shorts with a flannel and your boots and you’ll be set! If you don’t have a pair, try reviving a pair of jeans you haven’t worn in a while by cutting them off yourself. Get them the fray by washing them several times.

Cowboy Hat

Cowboy Hat

Dorothy Perkins | Natural Straw Cowboy Hat | $21.00

This hat will pair perfectly with any of your rodeo looks. And after the rodeo has come and gone you can continue wearing this summer-friendly straw hat to the beach.
